Being an unofficial release, the game was not. It was followed by 9 updates, the last one being Beta 9 in March 2014, which can be found here. However, a beta version was released in January 2014. It was announced on May 1st, 2012, and was officially cancelled1 after 3 years on August 12th, 2015. Mari0: Special Edition (Forum Thread) was meant to be the next update to Mari0, after 1.6. This can be proven by looking at the first Mario Multiverse log file also known as the one you get when you download the game for the first time. If you don’t, the game won’t function, because you’re not authorized.
It scans your entire Discord Server list, checking for Multiverse’s server, and then it checks if you have the beta tester role.
